Swiss Family Robinson(Novel)

The Swiss Family Robinson (German: Der Schweizerische Robinson) is a novel by Johann David Wyss, first published in 1812, about a Swiss family of immigrants whose ship en route to Port JacksonAustralia, goes off course and is shipwrecked in the East Indies.
A Growing Menagerie Robinson and Fritz explore the cliffs that flank their camp on one side, searching for “a passage through this barrier”. The cliffs cut them off from the rest of the island, and Robinson is eager to discover what lies beyond.
On their second journey to the ship, the Robinsons bring plants and objects which will help them on the island. Now they have to build a hut for the tools and for the animals.

When the Robinson family are shipwrecked on an uninhabited desert island, they find a new world of adventure and knowledge. As they learn to cope with the many problems of life on the island, they become even closer as a family. The Robinsons’ ship hits some rocks after a bad storm. However, they decide to spend the night on.

“Attempting Landfall” Loading their makeshift canoe with food, ammunition, tools, and a flock of chickens, the Robinsons set out for shore. Two mastiffs left behind by the crew leap overboard and swim alongside the boat. Once ashore, the Robinsons rig a temporary shelter, start a cooking fire and explore the beach.

owls what look like gourds on its trunk. The father tells Fritz the gourds will make excellent bowls and spoons, and they cut them into various utensils. They set them to dry in the sun, planning to pick them up on their way back.

Fritz and the pastor set off to explore our area and look for the missing crew. They look at their guns and Turks with them for protection. While they were walking, Fritz was excited to see there were coconuts upon the trees. Some monkeys that were also on the trees helped them get the fruit. They threw rocks at the animals and, in return, started throwing coconuts at them. Later on, the pastor and his son found sugar cane which made the coconuts milk taste delicious. After a while, they found a very useful fruit called gourd with which they could make plates and kitchen utensils. They also saw some flamingos who didn't seem frightened at all. This made the pastor realize that no people had ever visited the island. Suddenly, they heard Turk's snarls and saw Turk killing the mother of a baby monkey. They decided to keep the little monkey and call it Knips.

A New Home”. The Robinsons decide to move inland, away from the heat of the open beach. Robinson plans to build a bridge across the stream that separates the shore from the shadier woods on the other side.

Grizzle returns to the family, along with a wild female donkey, which the father tames. The family prepares for winter by gathering food and making a shelter for their animals. They spend a long, boring winter in the trunk of Falcon’s Nest. At night, the father of the swiss family Robinson chapter summaries.

When the Robinson family are shipwrecked on an uninhabited desert island, they find a new world. They use the donkey to pull more wood. They make the floor of the treehouse on two thick branches and hang a sail from a higher branch as a roof.

In preparation for their trip to the other side of the river, the father makes sure his sons realize the potential dangers. They have not been on the island long enough to be aware of all the animals living there. There may be more than jackals to attack them. As they start across the river with their supplies and livestock, he admonishes them to stay close and be constantly on the lookout.
